Testimonials | Gentilly Gardens Assisted Living & Memory Care Community

What truly makes us unique is our people: our residents, their families and our staff. Below are written accounts from some of our own who help to make Gentilly Gardens a wonderful place to live.

“I love working here at Gentilly Gardens! It has a peaceful atmosphere with loving and caring people. We are a team here and we all put forth our efforts to make sure the residents are taken care of. I’ve been here for 7 years and I would not change one thing about our facility.”
Renea Lanier, Certified Medication Assistant

“I have been in healthcare for over 15 years. I have worked in several communities, and have visited many more. The warm, inviting feeling you get from the moment you walk in the door comes from staff, residents, families and the many visitors that have someone they care about here. You will see smiles, hugs and handshakes, but most of all you will see that Gentilly Gardens cares.”

“My first time coming to Gentilly Gardens I loved the environment and the beautiful view from my room. I chose to live here because the director is a very friendly, kind man that made me feel very comfortable. I love that the staff here are very friendly and helpful, and that I was given the freedom to decorate my room and make it feel like home. I had no problem to adjusting to life at Gentilly, especially with the well planned activities that allow me to go places such as Wal-Mart.”
June T., Resident

“Prior to working at Gentilly Gardens, I worked in a doctor office for almost 32 years. I thought the doctor office was my calling; however, once I began working as a Health Service Director, in 2009, I am positive that this is my calling. Working here has given me a different perspective on nursing care. I enjoy making sure that the residents’ needs are met, whether it is a nursing matter, talking with them or their family, or just a simple hug. The atmosphere here is pleasant with smiles throughout the facility. I really enjoy the compassion everyone has.”
Grace Holloway, Health Service Director

“I really enjoy working at Gentilly Gardens, because I sincerely enjoy the residents and their spirits. I especially enjoy working in Pathways, because the residents there are like my little angels. Everyone here is kind and has respect for each other; team work is practiced here every day. I really admire and appreciate the directors, because they also help make work here enjoyable. One thing I appreciate about Gentilly is when you walk through the door you feel like you’re at home.”

“Gentilly Gardens has a staff that genuinely cares… that’s important. The staff is always easy to communicate with when I need them of am coming to visit. They also handle emergency situations in a manner that is timely and efficient, which was very important when my mother needed medical attention. Their community always looks nice and always has that special touch to it, whether it is the flowers in the spring or the decorations during the holidays. Living two hours away I can rest assure knowing that all of my parents’ needs are being met here while I am back at home. I am completely comfortable with the fact that the chose Gentilly Gardens as their home.”
Lana S., Family of residents

“I started volunteering for Gentilly Gardens back in September of 2012. During that time, I came to love both the residents and faculty so much so, that I considered everyone there my second family. I loved spending time there so much, that when the opportunity arose, I asked if I could do my internship there. I am so blessed for the opportunity to spend more time with the residents. Even if I only get to spend 30 minutes with a resident, I leave there at the end of my day fulfilled because I made someone smile. I have to say that Gentilly Gardens is my home away from home. There is nowhere else I’d rather spend my day!”
Allison Entwistle, Intern
